High Five Cookbook Series

In 2017, I started a personal experiment to see if I could save $20,000 by living on an austere budget and cooking cheap meals at home. I started writing a cookbook ‘zine series called High Five dedicated to inexpensive recipes with five ingredients or less.

They are sold at retailers in New York, Chicago and Miami.

Veg On The Edge

Veg On The Edge was the second ’zine of the High Five series and explores vegan cooking. The Art Direction is utterly opulent, driving home the simple idea that eating resourcefully can feel luxurious.

Horror D’oeuvres

The third installment of High Five (Horror D’ouvres) was released in October of 2020 after I watched a lot of classic horror movies through quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic. The concept updates the 5-ingredients-or-less formula by pairing the snack recipes with a movie of choice. Each zine features a spooky sticker insert. In collaboration with writer and artist Alicia Berbenick.

All proceeds went to the Food Bank of New York City.
